International Trauma Life Support
About
International Trauma Life Support is a global organization dedicated to preventing death and disability from trauma through education and emergency trauma care. ITLS is accepted internationally as the standard training course for pre-hospital trauma care, and is not only taught as a continuing education course, but is also used as a textbook in many paramedicine programs.
Advanced Emergency Medical Solutions is the Training Center coordinator for Newfoundland and Labrador. If you are looking for instructor materials, please visit the Advanced EMS eLearning site.
Audience
ITLS is split into two streams, basic and advanced. The basic stream is aimed at emergency medical responders, licensed practical nurses, and other medical first responders. The advanced stream is designed to incorporate advanced life support techniques for paramedics, registered nurses, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, medical doctors, and similar levels of training.
Advanced EMS offers dual-streamed courses and all training levels can register for our courses unless otherwise specified. In an effort to make our public course delivery more efficient, we will be offering ITLS utilizing the eTrauma and computer/refresher course model.
ITLS eTrauma
